About the Opportunity

A well-established Atlanta law firm specializing in Chapter 13 Bankruptcy is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Legal Assistant/Legal Secretary to join its team. This position is ideal for a candidate with prior law firm experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys supporting attorneys with case management, court filings, and legal document preparation.

The ideal candidate will have experience in bankruptcy law, civil litigation, or both, along with strong administrative and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, pleadings, motions, and briefs
  • File legal documents electronically with state and federal courts
  • Assist attorneys with case management and trial preparation
  • Maintain client files and case records
  • Draft correspondence and communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
  • Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, and court dates
  • Assist with Chapter 13 bankruptcy filings and supporting documentation
  • Organize exhibits, discovery materials, and case-related documents
  • Ensure all filings and documents are completed accurately and on time

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a law office required
  • Experience with court filings and legal document preparation required
  • Bankruptcy and/or civil litigation experience strongly preferred
  • Strong typing and computer skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Experience

  • Chapter 13 Bankruptcy experience
  • Civil Litigation experience
  • Electronic filing experience in Georgia courts
  • Experience supporting one or more attorneys
